Lawsuit Accuses Facebook Founder of Stealing Idea for Web Site

BOSTON — A rival to the Facebook social networking Web site wants to shut it down.
The founders of Connect-U said Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg stole their idea while they were all students at Harvard.
They said he agreed to write some code for their site, but never finished and then launched Facebook, which now has 31 million users.
They've filed a federal suit in Boston charging, among other things, fraud and copyright infringement.
They want the court to shut down the site, give them control and order Facebook to pay them the company's profits.
Attorneys for Facebook argue Connect-U's founders have no evidence, and said the case should be dismissed.
A hearing on the motion to dismiss is scheduled for Wednesday in federal district court.
