Israel will allow exiled Palestinian leader Nawef Hawatmeh, responsible for an infamous attack on an Israeli school more than 30 years ago, to attend a meeting in the West Bank summoned by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, a spokesman said.
Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's office said the Damascus-based Hawatmeh will be allowed to stay in the West Bank only for a few days.
