Police Searching for Parents of Abandoned New Jersey Boy

Friday, June 22, 2007

Police in Hightstown, N.J., released the photo Friday of a man they believe is the father of a little boy abandoned by his parents nearly two weeks ago in the parking lot of a local hospital.

Detectives released a photo of 32-year-old Rosario Digirolamo, the man who police say is the father of Michael Digirolamo, MyFoxPhilly.com reported. Police say Digirolamo, who goes by the first name "Roy," was last seen June 11, two days after his son was found in the parking lot of Christiana Medical Center in Delaware, 75 miles south of Hightstown.

Police say he left his job at ConAir in Hightstown, called his father in Brooklyn the next day, and hasn't been seen or heard from since.

The little boy's mother, 27-year-old Amy Giordano, disappeared June 8, the day before the couple's son was found. Detectives will not say whether they suspect foul play. Officially, both Digirolamo and Giordano are considered missing persons.
