One Mother's Unique Punishment for a Bully Daughter

Friday, May 18, 2007

Talk about tough love! A seventh grade California girl who bullied a fellow student was given a weeklong suspension, but her mother was not satisfied with the girl’s school assigned punishment. The mother’s “soap-in-the-mouth” tactic of choice - having her daughter stand on a street corner holding a sign that read, “I engaged in bullying behavior. I got suspended from school and this street corner. Don’t be like me. Stop bullying.” Miasha Williams resisted her mother’s demand at first, but later accepted it, saying, “…I think it’s the right punishment.”

The Chinese are racing forward with their plan for development of an artificial sun. Called Project EAST, which stands for Experimental Advanced Superconducting Tokamak (a real mouthful, huh?), the device could potentially result in the creation of unending supplies of clean, nuclear-fusion-based energy for human use. Other countries involved in the study and experimentation in thermonuclear fusion are Russia, Japan, the United States, the European Union, and the Republic of Korea.
