Laura Bush's Crusade

Wednesday, May 09, 2007

Happy Wednesday everybody!

Thanks for tuning in to our show today. The highlight of the morning for me was interviewing first lady Laura Bush! Today, she kicks off a national summit to stop the rising rate of students who are choosing to drop out of high school. A new Web site will allow you to look at your own local community to see how you stack up: www.silentepidemic.org — check it out.

We also chatted with the first lady about the inside gossip from Queen Elizabeth II's visit. Like... what did the queen serve the president and first lady last night when she entertained them? It wasn't fish 'n' chips! Darn.

Brian also joined us from Washington, D.C., where he accepted an award on our show's behalf last night from the Armed Services Association. Thanks! Brian's new book is also out now, so he's busy traveling the country for book signings.
