KANSAS CITY, Mo. —  Kansas City, Mo., police searched Tuesday for two teenage girls last seen at a park two days earlier.

Family members met at Concourse Park Monday to pass out fliers throughout the neighborhood in their search for Alexandria, 12, and Marissa, 16, who were last seen Sunday.

On Sunday, the two girls told family they were headed to the park. Alex's mother, Rosa Sanchez, told them to be home by dark.

"They never showed up here," Duarte told local FOX affiliate WDAF. "They left here at 4 p.m. and now it's the next day."

Marissa's mother, Rachel Duarte, said her daughter is very responsible.

Police said the girls don't have a history of running away. The mothers said there was no big argument or disagreement between them and the girls before they left the house.

"They left fine," Sanchez said. "She gave me a kiss bye and they said we're going to the park. It was a nice, sunny day."

A friend talked to the girls around 10 p.m. Sunday night, but that's the last anyone heard from them. That mobile phone now seems to be turned off, WDAF reported.
