LAS VEGAS  —  An Amber Alert was issued Monday in southern Nevada for a Southern California woman who police suspect killed a relative and abducted her 4-year-old son.

Vanessa Ochoa, 22, does not have parental custody of the boy, identified by authorities as Manaen Miles.

Nevada authorities said Los Angeles County sheriff's investigators think she took the child Sunday after shooting the boy's uncle dead at a home in the foothill community of Altadana, Calif., about 17 miles north of Los Angeles.

Police said they were looking for a silver four-door Mitsubishi Diamante sedan with temporary Nevada license plates, and said they believed Ochoa and the boy were in Las Vegas or Henderson.
