Police: Student Kills Himself in Front of Peers in School Hallway

GREENVILLE, Texas Police on Wednesday said a Greenville High School student shot and killed himself in front of fellow students in the school band hall.
The Greenville Herald-Banner quotes witnesses as saying the student entered the hall early Wednesday and shot himself in front of several students.
A school district spokesman in the Northeast Texas town said the school was locked down, but a police dispatcher says the situation is under control.
No other details nor the student's identity were available.
Greenville is a city of about 26,000 residents about 45 miles northeast of Dallas. Greenville High School has an enrollment of about 5,200 students.
