Jerry Springer to Host 'America's Got Talent'; Brandy Remains a Judge

Tuesday, March 06, 2007

Jerry Springer is replacing Regis Philbin as host of "America's Got Talent" and Brandy is still on the show — at least for now.

NBC officials aren't commenting, but insiders say Brandy, who's in legal trouble after allegedly triggering a car accident that killed a woman, "remains a judge" on the show.

That's not exactly a ringing endorsement of the singer and could change, depending on what happens with Brandy's case before "Talent" goes into production for its summer run.

She's already been slapped with two lawsuits for the accident, which she allegedly triggered last Dec. 30 on the 405 Freeway in L.A., and in which Awatef Aboudihaj was killed.

Springer, meanwhile, will replace Philbin — who hosted the show last season but found that traveling from New York to L.A. affected his work on his day job, "Live with Regis & Kelly."
