Romney Announces '08 Bid

"It is time for innovation and transformation in Washington. It is what our country needs," Mitt Romney said on Tuesday, right before declaring his official presidential bid.

The former Republican Massachusetts governor believes Washington can not be transformed by a lifelong politician, due to internal corruption of favors, deals and entanglements. He went on to say that the family is the foundation of America, and the nation must fight to protect and strengthen it.

As a Mormon, some speculate that Romney could face resistance from Christian evangelicals, and criticism from the Jewish community, for making his announcement in Michigan's Henry Ford museum, a well-known anti-Semite. READ MORE
