Report: Iran Gives Two Month Timeframe for Herbal AIDS Cure

The Iranian pharmacists were set to sell its "herbal cure" for AIDS domestically within two months, according to a press release by the Iranian Pharmacists Society.
Saeed Vaqefi, secretary of the society, said the herbal medicine IMOD — purported to cure AIDS and HIV — would be given to Iranian AIDS patients free of charge.
The society charges that the drug, made from medicinal plants in 15 research centers around the country, controls the spread of the virus in the blood stream and boosts immunity.
According to Minister of Health Kamran Baqeri Lankarani, the herbal HIV/AIDS medicine will soon be licensed for sale in European countries.

On Sunday, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad celebrated the 28th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution with a speech that touched on uranium enrichment, but failed to address the herbal cure.
