Spc. James L. Adair, 26, of Carthage, Texas, died in Baghdad, Iraq, of wounds sustained when his vehicle struck an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 28th Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kan.

Sgt. William W. Crow Jr., 28, of Grandview Plaza, Kan., died in Baghdad, of wounds sustained when his vehicle was struck by an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to the 2d Battalion, 16th Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kan.

Pfc. Cory F. Hiltz, 20, of La Verne, Calif., died of wounds sustained when his unit was attacked in Baghdad by insurgents using improvised explosive devices. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 12th Infantry Regiment, 2d Brigade Combat Team, 2d Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colo.

Sgt. Shin W. Kim, 23, of Fullerton, Calif., died of wounds sustained when his unit was attacked in Baghdad by insurgents using improvised explosive devices. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 12th Infantry Regiment, 2d Brigade Combat Team, 2d Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colo.

Sgt. Michael J. Martinez, 24, of Chula Vista, Calif., died of wounds sustained when his unit was attacked in Baghdad by insurgents using improvised explosive devices. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 12th Infantry Regiment, 2d Brigade Combat Team, 2d Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colo.

Sgt. Giann C. Joya Mendoza, 27, of North Hollywood, Calif., died of wounds sustained when his unit was attacked in Baghdad by insurgents using improvised explosive devices. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 12th Infantry Regiment, 2d Brigade Combat Team, 2d Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colo.

Spc. Dustin L. Workman II, 19, of Greenwood, Neb., died of wounds sustained when his unit was attacked in Baghdad by insurgents using improvised explosive devices. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 12th Infantry Regiment, 2d Brigade Combat Team, 2d Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colo.

Cpl. Derek C. Dixon, 20, of Riverside, Ohio, died while conducting combat operations in Al Anbar province, Iraq. He was assigned to 2nd Assault Amphibian Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C.

Sgt. 1st Class Nathan L. Winder, 32, of Blanding, Utah, died in Ad Diwaniyah, Iraq, of wounds sustained from enemy small arms fire. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne), Fort Lewis, Wash.

Pfc. Andre Craig Jr., 24, of New Haven, Conn., died in Baghdad, Iraq, of wounds suffered from an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 16th Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kan.

Sgt. Trista L. Moretti, 27, of South Plainfield, N.J., died in Nasir Lafitah, Iraq, when her unit was attacked by insurgents using indirect fire. She was assigned to the 425th Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 4th Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division, Fort Richardson, Alaska.

Pfc. Henry G. Byrd III, 20, of Veguita, N.M., died in Landstuhl Germany, from a non-combat related illness sustained while in Iraq. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 30th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, Ga.

Spc. Carter A. Gamble Jr., 24 of Brownstown, Ind., died in Duraiya, Iraq, of wounds suffered from enemy small arms fire. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 15th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Benning, Ga.

Spc. Eric C. Palmer, 21, of Maize, Kan., died at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, Landstuhl, Germany, of wounds suffered when his unit was attacked by insurgents using small arms firein Bayji, Iraq. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, N.C.

Sgt. William E. Brown, 25, of Phil Campbell, Ala., died in Taji, Iraq, of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit with indirect fire. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 227th Aviation Regiment, Air Cavalry Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Carson, Colo.

Spc. Derek A. Calhoun, 23, of Oklahoma City, died in Taji, Iraq, of wounds suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas.

Sgt. Joel A. Dahl, 21, of Los Lunas, N.M., died in Baghdad, Iraq, of wounds sustained when his unit was attacked by enemy forces using small arms fire. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 23rd Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, Fort Lewis, Wash.

Sgt. Chris Davis, 35, of Lubbock, Texas, died in Baghdad, Iraq, of wounds suffered when his unit was attacked by insurgents using an improvised explosive device and small arms fire. Sgt. Joel A. House, 22, of Lee, Maine, died in Taji, Iraq, of wounds suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas.

Spc. Joseph P. Kenny, 20, of Veneta, Ore., died in Mosul, Iraq, of injuries suffered from a non-combat related incident. He was assigned to the 27th Brigade Support Battalion, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Bliss, Texas.

Sgt. Jimy M. Malone, 23, of Wills Point, Texas, died in Taji, Iraq, of wounds suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas.

Staff Sgt. Michael D. Moody Jr., 31, of Richmond, Va., died in Baghdad, Iraq, of wounds suffered when his unit was attacked by insurgents using an improvised explosive device and small arms fire. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 69th Armor Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Benning, Ga.

Airman 1st Class Jason D. Nathan, 22, of Macon, Ga., died in Iraq, of wounds suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle while on patrol. He was assigned to the 48th Security Forces Squadron, RAF Lakenheath, England.

1st Lt. Daniel P. Riordan, 24, of St. Louis, Mo., died in Taji, Iraq, of wounds suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas.

Pvt. Shane M. Stinson, 23, of Fullerton, Calif., died in Baghdad, Iraq, of wounds suffered when his unit was attacked by insurgents using an improvised explosive device and small arms fire. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 69th Armor Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Benning, Ga.

Sgt. Michael J. Montpetit, 31, of Honolulu, died in Baghdad, Iraq, of injuries sustained from a non-combat related incident. He was assigned to the 15th Forward Support Battalion, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas.

Spc. Dominic N. Rodriguez, 23, of Klamath Falls, Ore., died in Baghdad, Iraq, of injuries sustained from a non-combat related incident. He was assigned to the 4th Squadron, 9th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas.

Pfc. Daniel J. Agami, 25, of Coconut Creek, Fla., died in Baghdad, Iraq, of wounds suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 26th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Schweinfurt, Germany.

Spc. Karen N. Clifton, 22, of Lehigh Acres, Fla., died in Baghdad, Iraq, of wounds suffered when her vehicle was hit with a rocket propelled grenade. She was assigned to the 554th Military Police Company, 95th Military Police Battalion, Kaiserslautern, Germany.

Pfc. Anthony D. Hebert, 19, of Lake City, Minn., died in Baghdad, Iraq, of wounds suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 26th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Schweinfurt, Germany.

Pfc. Thomas R. Leemhuis, 23, of Binger, Okla., died in Baghdad, Iraq, of wounds suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 26th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Schweinfurt, Germany.

Sgt. Frank M. Sandoval, 27, of Yuma, Ariz., died in Palo Alto, Calif., of wounds sustained when his unit was attacked by insurgents using small arms fire on Nov. 28, 2005, in Tikrit, Iraq. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 5th Artillery, Fort Sill, Okla.

Sgt. Eric L. Snell, 35, of Trenton, N.J., died in Balad, Iraq, of wounds suffered when his unit came in contact with insurgents using small arms fire in Baghdad, Iraq. He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 61st Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colo.

Pfc. Jacob T. Tracy, 20, of Palestine, Ill., died in Balad, Iraq, of wounds suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle in Baghdad, Iraq. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas.

Sgt. Danny R. Soto, 24, of Houston, Texas, died in Rashidiyah, Iraq, of wounds suffered when the vehicle in which he was ridding struck an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 12th Field Artillery Regiment, 4th Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division (Stryker Brigade Combat Team), Ft. Lewis, Wash.

1st Lt. Frank B. Walkup, IV, 23, of Woodbury, Tenn., died in Kirkuk, Iraq, from injuries sustained in Rashaad Iraq, when an improvised explosive device detonated near his position during dismounted operations. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 35th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.

June 15

Pfc. Michael P. Pittman, 34, of Davenport, Iowa, died in Baghdad, Iraq, of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit using an improvised explosive device and small arms fire. He was assigned to the 1st Squadron, 4th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kan.

Maj. Kevin H. Sonnenberg, 42, of McClure, Ohio, died when his jet crashed five miles north of Balad Air Base, Iraq. He was assigned to the 112th Fighter Squadron, Toledo, Ohio.

June 14

Staff Sgt. Michael A. Bechert, 24, of New Castle, Ind., died in San Antonio, Texas, of wounds suffered when his vehicle struck an improvised explosive device in Baghdad, Iraq. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 18th Infantry Regiment, 2d Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Schweinfurt, Germany.

Spc. Val J. Borm, 21, of Sidney, Neb., died in Kirkuk, Iraq, of wounds suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 35th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Infantry Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.

Cpl. Dustin R. Brisky, 26, of Round Rock, Texas, died in Tallil, Iraq, of wounds suffered from an explosion. He was assigned to the Army Reserve’s 952nd Engineer Company, Paris, Texas. The unit was attached to the 92nd Engineer Battalion, 3rd Sustainment Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, Ga.

Spc. Farid Elazzouzi, 26, of Paterson, N.J., died in Kirkuk, Iraq, of wounds suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 35th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Infantry Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.

Spc. Josiah W. Hollopeter, 27, of San Diego, Calif., died in Balad, Iraq, of wounds suffered when his unit was attacked by insurgents using small arms fire in Al Muqdadiyah, Iraq. He was assigned to the 6th Squadron, 9th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas.

Sgt. Richard K. Parker, 26, of Phillips, Maine, died in Scania, Iraq, from wounds suffered when an improvised explosive devices detonated near his vehicle during combat operations. He was assigned to Company A, 1st Battalion, 152nd Field Artillery Regiment, Maine Army National Guard, Waterville, Maine.

Pvt. William C. Johnson, 22, of Oxford, N.C., died in Baghdad, Iraq, of wounds suffered from an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to the 1st Squadron, 4th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kan.

Spc. Damon G. LeGrand, 27, of Lakeside, Calif., died in Baqubah, Iraq, of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit with anti-tank mines, rocket-propelled grenades and small arms fire in Baghdad, Iraq. He was assigned to the 571st Military Police Company, 504th Military Police Battalion, 42nd Military Police Brigade, Fort Lewis, Wash.

Lance Cpl. Johnny R. Strong, 21, of Waco, Texas, died while conducting combat operations in Al Anbar province, Iraq. He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, Twentynine Palms, Calif.

Lt. Col. Glade L. Felix, 52, of Lake Park, Ga., died in Southwest Asia. He was assigned to the 622nd Aeromedical Staging Squadron, Robins Air Force Base, Ga.

Pfc. Cameron K. Payne, 22, of Corona, Calif., died in Balad, Iraq, of wounds suffered from an improvised explosive device that detonated near his vehicle during combat operations in Baghdad, Iraq. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 16th Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kan.

June 10

Airman 1st Class Eric M. Barnes, 20, of Lorain, Ohio, died as result of an improvised explosive device attack on an Air Force convoy about 100 miles south of Baghdad, Iraq. He was assigned to the 90th Logistics Readiness Squadron, F.E. Warren Air Force Base, Wyo.

Cpl. Llythaniele Fender, 21, of Medical Lake, Wash., died in Karbala, Iraq, of wounds suffered from an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to the 5th Battalion, 5th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, Fort Lewis, Wash.

Spc. Adam G. Herold, 23, of Omaha, Neb., died in Karbala, Iraq, of wounds suffered from an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 377th Parachute Field Artillery Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division, Fort Richardson, Alaska.
