Heather Mills' Lawyers Deny Report That Paul McCartney Has Proposed Divorce Settlement

Monday, January 22, 2007

LONDON  —  Heather Mills McCartney's lawyers are denying that Paul McCartney has proposed a financial settlement in the celebrity couple's angry divorce.

A published report in London Sunday said the former Beatle has offered 32 million pounds, the equivalent of 63 million dollars.

But the law firm representing Mills McCartney says there has been no offer "whatsoever at any time" and therefore no agreement.

McCartney, 64, and Heather Mills McCartney, 38, have a 3-year-old daughter, Beatrice. The couple split up last May and began divorce proceedings in July.
