Kathy Augustine seemed to have it all... except luck in love. She was one of Nevada’s most prominent political figures, serving 15 years in public office. But Kathy's personal record wasn't as stellar as her public one.

She was on husband No. 4 last summer, when she died suddenly of an apparent heart attack. Her new husband, a critical care nurse eight years her junior, told police she’d been under a great deal of stress. But close friends and family couldn’t understand how a woman, famous for dealing with adversity, could suddenly collapse and die.

Then a phone tip provided a possible answer: A powerful paralytic that’s nearly impossible to trace in the body.

Was Kathy Augustine injected with this murderous drug and left to die? An 11-week investigation came up with the shocking answer and now, a suspect with a shady past sits in a Reno jail cell awaiting trial.
