Monday, October 23, 2006

CHICAGO —  Internet retailer Amazon.com (AMZN) Monday said it opened an automotive parts and accessories store featuring over 1 million new, used and remanufactured parts.

Core brands carried by Amazon's automotive store include Actron, Fram, Holley, Hurst, K&N Engineering, Lund, Meguiar's, Raybestos and Schumacher.

Hundreds of thousands of additional items are listed on the Amazon site by more than 250 independent auto, truck and motorcycle parts retailers, such as Auto Barn, HorsepowerFreaks, Midway Auto Supply and Summit Racing Equipment.

"We're ... making the automotive store convenient for the everyday motorist who is looking for basic car care and maintenance items," Steve Frazier, vice president of automotive at Amazon.com, said in a statement.
