John Kasich

John Kasich currently hosts "The Heartland with John Kasich" on FOX News Channel. Also, he substitutes as host for "The O'Reilly Factor" and hosts the special "Heroes with John Kasich." Kasich joined FOX News Channel as a political contributor in January 2001.

Presently, Kasich serves as managing director at Lehman Brothers in the Investment Banking Division. He maintains responsibilities across a range of industry groups on which Lehman Brothers focuses its investment banking activities including health care, power and utilities, technology and financial institutions.

A member of Congress for 18 years, he was elected to the Ohio State Senate in 1978 and to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1982. As chairman of the House Budget Committee, Kasich was the chief architect of the plan that balanced the federal budget. He also chaired the congressional committee that overhauled the welfare system.

Additionally, Kasich is a guest lecturer at the Ohio State University’s Fisher College of Business. He also serves as chairman of New Century Project, a national grassroots organization that helps elect leaders who believe in the power of the individual.

Kasich has been named as one of Newsweek magazine's "100 People for the 21st Century." He is the author of the New York Times best-seller, "Courage is Contagious."
