John Moody

John Moody serves as the Executive Vice President, News Editorial for FOX News. He is responsible for both the design and editorial direction of FOX News Channel and oversees all story content for FOX News.
Prior to joining FOX News, Moody had a 14-year career at Time as both a writer and bureau chief. Most recently, he served as Time’s New York bureau chief. Moody began his career as the Eastern Europe bureau chief, where he handled coverage of the Soviet Union’s satellite states in the Eastern Bloc. From Austria, he organized and directed Time’s coverage of the 1984 Winter Olympics and reported on Poland’s solidarity trade union movement.
Named Time’s Latin American bureau chief in 1986, Moody was responsible for covering all of the Latin American and Caribbean nations. In this position, he received the 1992 Inter-American Press Association Bartholomew Mitre Award for his interview with Cali cocaine leader Gilberto Rodriguez Orejuela and coverage of the ongoing drug wars.
Beginning his journalism career at United Press International in 1975, Moody was named the wire service’s Moscow bureau chief and served as the chief of the Paris bureau. Moody is the author of two novels, The Priest Who Had To Die and Moscow Magician.
Born in Pittsburgh, Moody is a 1975 graduate of Cornell University. He lives in New Jersey with his wife Alexandra and his children, Kate and John Peter.
