For the next two weeks, Israeli forces entered Gaza at will, searching for the kidnapped soldier while trying to dismantle Hamas.

On July 12, two more Israeli soldiers were kidnapped, this time by Hezbollah, igniting an all-out war between the Jewish state and two militant Arab groups pledged to its destruction.
