Hand Grenade Tossed Into Crowd in Afghanistan

KABUL, Afghanistan A militant threw a hand grenade toward a crowd watching acrobats perform at a circus Wednesday in northern Afghanistan, police said. It was unclear if there were any casualties.
The attack happened in a park in central Taluqan, capital of Takhar province, as scores of people watched the open-air circus, said provincial police chief Gen. Mushtaba Patang.
A man tossed a grenade that exploded near the people, but it was unclear if anyone was hurt, Patang said.
