Simon Cowell Singing with the Stars

Tuesday, January 10, 2006

NEW YORK  —  First came "Dancing with the Stars." Later this month, the debut of "Skating with Celebrities" is set.

Naturally, the next celeb/pro show will be "Duets," which might as well be called "Singing with the Stars" because that's what it's going to be.

The new show was created by "American Idol" star Simon Cowell, who has sold the show to Fox.

Professional singers pair off on the show with celebrities from outside of the music business to perform for a panel of judges and a studio audience.

Viewers will have the final say in voting off contestants.

It's being planned for a run sometime this summer.

No word yet on who the stars will be.

Simon, by the way, will not be one of the judges.
