Earthquake Rattles Indonesia

JAKARTA, Indonesia — A moderate earthquake rattled Indonesia's tsunami-ravaged Aceh province Sunday, an Indonesian meteorological official said. There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage.
The 5.5-magnitude quake hit at 3:47 p.m., with the epicenter located offshore, about 35 miles southwest of the provincial capital Banda Aceh, said Budi Waluyo.
Aceh, on the northern tip of Sumatra Island, was the hardest hit by the December 2004 magnitude 9 quake and subsequent tsunami that killed or left missing more than 216,000 people in a dozen countries — most of them in Aceh.
Earthquakes of magnitude 6 and below are not considered strong enough to trigger a tsunami.
