LOS ANGELES —  Aussie actor Heath Ledger (search) and fiancee Michelle Williams (search) became first-time parents with the birth of a daughter, Matilda, People magazine reports.

Matilda was born Friday, according to the magazine. Ledger's publicist, Mara Buxbaum, had no comment on the report Wednesday.

Ledger, 26, and Williams, 25, play husband and wife in the upcoming Ang Lee film "Brokeback Mountain," slated for release later this year.

Ledger recently appeared in "The Brothers Grimm (search)" and the skateboard film "Lords of Dogtown."
