New 'Apprentice' Cast Announced

Thursday, September 08, 2005

Meet the latest cast of "The Apprentice," (search) a group that includes the show's first professional football player, a real-life beauty queen, the game's first gay contestant and two New Yorkers.

Among the 18 potential moguls are Brian Mandelbaum, 23, from Long Island, N.Y., a financial whiz-kid; Josh Shaw, 30, one of the founders of GoSmile, a New York-based high-end teeth-whitening company; Clay Lee, 28, a real estate agent from College Station, Texas — and the show's first openly gay contestant; and Chris Valletta, 27, a former NFL player who is now an advertising sales exec at KRLD News Radio in Dallas.

And much to Trump's delight, contestant Jennifer Murphy, 26, an ad sales manager from Los Angeles, was also Miss Oregon.

"This is the best cast we've ever had and the best 'Apprentice' we've ever done," Trump told The Post Tuesday.

The latest edition of the popular series debuts on Sept. 22.
