MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich. —  Two relatives of Eminem (search) have filed suit against the rap star, claiming that he is trying to evict them from the home he had built for them.

Jack and Betty Schmitt (search), the rapper's uncle and aunt, filed the lawsuit last week seeking more than $350,000 and possession of the home, The Detroit News reported Thursday.

The Schmitts claim in the lawsuit that they lived in St. Joseph, Mo., until mid-2002, when they moved to Macomb County's Clinton Township at the request of their nephew, whose real name is Marshall Mathers III (search).

Eminem's attorney, Howard Hertz, declined comment on the suit, saying he hadn't read it.

According to the lawsuit, the Schmitts claim that Eminem had agreed to pay them $100,000 a year for five years and provide them with a house worth up to $350,000. But they say the rapper has given them only $165,000 since 2002.

The Schmitts say that Eminem bought a lot for them in 2002 to accommodate a home, which was finished in March 2003, but the rapper kept the property in his own name. On July 13, the Schmitts say they received a notice telling them to leave the property, the lawsuit says.

Eminem was born in St. Joseph, Mo., and grew up in the Detroit area. After attaining hip-hop superstardom, he lived in Sterling Heights and Clinton Township and now lives in a mansion in Rochester Hills.
