One Killed in Bomb Attack on Russian Train

MAKHACHKALA, Russia —  Police in Russia (search) say at least one person was killed when a bomb exploded beneath a train in the country's Dagestan region.

An official says the blast derailed one car and left a crater on the track bed. Four others were injured in the bombing.

The blast hit in the region that borders Chechnya (search) and has been plagued by increasing violence believed connected with insurgents and criminal gangs.
