A photo of the superstar couple cuddling for the cameras at the ESPY Awards in Hollywood Wednesday night would seem to belie rumors they are heading for splitsville.

Reps for Simpson and her "Dukes of Hazzard" co-star Johnny Knoxville (search) have been denying whispers of an affair for months -- but an ominous e-mail set tongues wagging again this week.

The anonymous missive littering inboxes of media types all over town claims that Simpson and Knoxville are "going public" with their alleged affair and divorcing their spouses.

But Simpson's spokesman, Brad Cafarelli, says the e-mail is a hoax. "This is all absolutely false," he said. "The entire story is a complete lie."
