Boy Scout Dies in Camp Accident

BOISE, Idaho  —  A Boy Scout (search) who was using a cable to glide between two trees at a summer camp died after losing his grip and plunging 15 feet, authorities said.

Jeffrey Kenneth Lloyd (search), 17, landed on his back in the Wednesday accident.

He was using a zip line, a downward-sloping cable strung between two points. Participants hold onto a pulley wheel with a set of handlebars and roll down the length of the cable.
