Four U.S. Soldiers Killed in Iraq Blasts

BAGHDAD, Iraq —  Four U.S. soldiers were killed in separate roadside bombings west of Baghdad (search), the military said Sunday.

Two soldiers were killed Saturday when a bomb exploded near their vehicle outside Amiriyah (search), some 25 miles west of Baghdad.

Two other soldiers also died Saturday when their vehicle struck a bomb near Taqaddum (search), 45 miles west of Baghdad.

At least 1,701 members of the U.S. military have died since the beginning of the Iraq war in March 2003, according to an Associated Press count.
