Lohan's Dad's DWI Now a Felony

Wednesday, March 30, 2005

NEW YORK —  The DWI charge against Lindsay Lohan's (search) embattled father was upgraded Tuesday to a felony — which could land him in the clink for four years.

When a handcuffed Michael Lohan (search) entered the Mineola, New York, courthouse for a hearing, he was asked by reporters if he had a message for Lindsay.

He said he wanted the press to ask his daughter "why they're laundering her money and why I'm not getting any."

One of his lawyers, Vincent Grande, said he was concerned over how much money might be left for his client to collect in a divorce from Lindsay's mom, Dina.

"I don't know if she's [Dina's] hiding the marital assets," said Grande.

Dina's spokesman, Rob Shuter, said, "These are the continued hypocritical rantings of a convicted felon."
