"The Bourne Supremacy," "Dodgeball," "24," "The Ultimate Matrix Collection" and "The Gilmore Girls" are new on DVD in today's Foxlight.
It gave some viewers motion sickness, but I loved "The Bourne Supremacy," (search) the sequel to "The Bourne Identity." And new this week on DVD, it may calm down a bit on the smaller screen. Matt Damon's memory is still a little shaky, but he knows when to run and whom he's after — it's a horribly miscast but still watchable Joan Allen. Julia Stiles is back for a short stroll as a quasi-love interest. Who thought of Matt and Ben Affleck that Matt was the real actor?
Friends actually liked it, but Foxlight dodged it completely. Now maybe I'll catch "Dodgeball," (search) with Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn and the police department's new buddy, Rip Torn. Still, Stiller looks like he's just using costumes and characters left over from "Zoolander" and "Starsky and Hutch."
Just another day for Jack Bauer. Season three of "24" (search) is released this week. Still one of the best shows on television and always worth revisiting whether it's a Fox show or not.
Will the "Matrix" sequels make more sense in "The Ultimate Matrix Collection?" (search) Not unless the brothers who made the series explain the second and third one in great detail. And would it be asking too much if any of it made sense? Just asking.
Finally, an underrated TV show that deserves to be seen by more people — the second season of "The Gilmore Girls." (search) If any mother and daughter can rat-a-tat "Moonlighting" dialogue like this, I'd like to meet them.
