"Objective" Report?

IslamOnline.net, an Arab news site which claims to adhere to "objective treatment ... and scientific accuracy" reports that U.S. troops are gassing citizens in Fallujah (search). The site quotes what it calls "resistance sources" who say coalition troops are "using chemical weapons out of despair and helplessness in the face of the steadfast and fierce resistance put up by Fallujah people, who drove U.S. troops out of several districts."

U.S. military spokesmen have denied all aspects of that story.

Boulder Bush Bashing?

Secret service agents have paid a visit to the Boulder, Colorado high school where some students took over the library to protest the Bush administration last week, but they were investigating a completely separate incident.

It seems that some observers at a talent show rehearsal complained that a student band added President Bush's name to Bob Dylan's (search) forty-year-old protest song "Masters of War," which includes the line, "I hope that you die and your death will come soon."

Two days later, the secret service arrived to question the school's principal about a possible threat to the president.

The group, which recently changed its name from "the Taliband" to "Coalition of the Willing," denies changing the lyrics.

Moore Fahrenheit 9/11

Liberal Film Maker Michael Moore (search) says he's already planning a new documentary called "Farenheit 9/11 and a Half," which he says will again deal with terrorism and the war in Iraq. Moore tells the entertainment newspaper Variety, "Fifty-one percent of the American people lacked information and we want to educate and enlighten them. They weren't told the truth."

Moore added that the "official mourning period is over today and there is a silver lining — George W. Bush is prohibited by law from running again."

Last Flights Out

With some disappointed Americans threatening to leave the country rather than live four more years under President Bush, one organization is offering to give them a way out.

HelpThemLeave.com offers free one-way transportation for disgruntled citizens, in return for "irrevocable renunciation of your U.S. citizenship and a sworn statement that you will never return."

The group will even match destinations to political preferences — leftists are offered a choice of France or Germany; socialists can choose between Canada and Denmark, and communists can pick Cuba or North Korea.
