Memo to the "American Idol" (search) crew: Madonna (search) hates you.

"I think it's bad," the Material Mom told a reporter from ABC Radio Networks Tuesday in a wide-ranging interview, parts of which are expected to air on as many as 3,000 ABC affiliates around the U.S. Wednesday.

"I think people are obsessed with other people's failures or heartaches and I think it gives people a certain kind of a thrill to watch them [contestants on 'Idol'] go down," she said.

Asked about shows like "Idol" and its U.K. predecessor "Pop Idol," Madonna said, "I don't like them."

Would she want either of the talent shows to devote a episode to her music — as they have with other artists?

"No, certainly not," Madonna said.
