What happened to Bob Dylan - rebel folk-rock hero?

Not only is the '60s anti-establishment icon appearing in a commercial for Victoria's Secret (search), but now he's reportedly interested in being a guest judge on "American Idol." (search)

Entertainment Weekly reports that Dylan's "people" contacted "Idol" executive producer Nigel Lythgoe about The Mumbling One appearing next season as a guest judge.

"Idol" producers have already put the call out to Paul McCartney (search) to be a guest judge next season, and EW says he's mulling the offer.

In the Victoria's Secret ad, "Angels in Venice," Dylan, 62, is seen ogling a scantily clad woman wearing angel wings and stiletto heels while his song, "Love Sick," plays in the background.

That's quite a departure for the musician, who's railed against corporate America for over 40 years now.

Dylan and McCartney wouldn't be the first celebrity judges on "American Idol." Among the musicians who've appeared on the show are Barry Manilow (search), Neil Sedaka (search), Gladys Knight and Gloria Estefan.

"American Idol," now in its third season, averages over 20 million viewers a night.
