Iraqi Red Crescent Official Killed in Ambush

CAIRO, Egypt  —  A top Iraqi Red Crescent (search) official and his wife were killed Saturday in an apparent attack on their car in northern Iraq, a Red Cross spokeswoman said.

The head of the Red Crescent's Irbil office and his wife were killed while in the nearby northern city of Mosul, Nada Doumani of the Iraqi delegation for the International Committee of the Red Cross (search), told The Associated Press in a telephone interview.
