Bomb Kills U.S. Soldier, Interpreter in Baghdad

BAGHDAD, Iraq  —  A bomb exploded in western Baghdad (searchnear a U.S. patrol, killing an American soldier and an Iraqi interpreter and wounding three other troops, the military said Monday.

The attack 1st Armored Division patrol occurred Sunday in the capital's Abu Ghraib (searchdistrict.

The names of the dead and wounded were withheld pending notification of their families.
