U.S. Soldier Dies of Wounds From Attack

BAGHDAD, Iraq — An American soldier died of wounds suffered last week in a roadside bombing north of Samarra (search), the U.S. command said Monday.
The attack occurred Friday in the central Iraqi city, which is in the so-called "Sunni Triangle," (search) where resistance to the American-run occupation runs strong.
The latest American death, which occurred Sunday, is the 501st since the Iraq conflict began March 20.
