Monterrey, Mexico (SportsNetwork.com) - Ana Ivanovic took down fellow Serbian Jovana Jaksic in the final of the $500,000 Monterrey Open on Sunday.
The second-seeded Ivanovic was a straight-set winner over the unseeded Jaksic, 6-2, 6-1, in just over an hour on the hardcourts at Club Sonoma to capture her 13th singles title and second of the season.
Ivanovic, who earned $111,389 with the triumph, fired four aces and saved 5- of-7 break points. She beat Danish star Caroline Wozniacki in the semifinals to get to the final.
The 20-year-old Jaksic was searching for her first WTA singles title.
