Barcelona, Spain (Sports Network) - Italy's Sara Errani handled Dominika Cibulkova of Slovakia in Sunday's final at the Barcelona Ladies Open.
The seventh-seeded Errani took down Cibulkova, the No. 3 seed, by a 6-2, 6-2 margin in 65 minutes to win her 10th straight match on clay.
"Clay courts are probably better for me than for Cibulkova," Errani said. "She hits very hard and is very fast, but while she can hit two winners in a row, she can also hit consecutive errors - knowing that I knew I had to keep up with her pace, keep the ball deep and be very solid, but also stay aggressive."
Errani captured her second title of the year after winning in Acapulco last month. The Italian improved to 4-3 for her career in finals.
Italians have taken the last four titles in Barcelona -- Roberta Vinci in 2009, Francesca Schiavone in 2010 and Vinci again in 2011.
Cibulkova was trying to win her second career title. She won her maiden WTA crown last October in Moscow, prevailing in a final after losing each of her first three title matches.
Despite the loss, Cibulkova still owns a 4-3 mark against Errani.
Errani took home $37,000 with the victory.
