Delray Beach, FL (Sports Network) - Argentine Juan Martin del Potro scored an easy victory in Sunday's final of the $442,500 Delray Beach International Tennis Championships.
Del Potro dispatched sixth-seeded Serbian Janko Tipsarevic in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4, needing one hour, 54 minutes to post the decision.
The 22-year-old blew past second-seeded Mardy Fish, 6-1, 7-5, on Saturday to reach his 11th career final. He improved to 8-3 in tournament finals, including a 5-0 mark on American soil. He collected $76,500 for his effort.
The 2009 U.S. Open winner also took his only prior meeting with Tipsarevic at the ATP World Tour Masters 1000 Miami event in 2009.
Tipsarevic, who bested Kei Nishikori on Saturday by identical 6-4, 6-4 scores, participated in his third career final and is still seeking his first career title. He was a runner-up at 's-Hertogenbosch last year and Moscow in 2009. He took home a respectable $40,300.
