Tipsarevic wins Chennai title

Chennai, India (Sports Network) - Serbian Janko Tipsarevic rallied from a set down to beat Spain's Roberto Bautista Agut for the title at the season-opening Chennai Open.

The second-seeded Tipsarevic earned his fourth career title with a 3-6, 6-1, 6-3 triumph on Sunday.

"I was mentally stable and was not worried when I was one set down," said Tipsarevic.

Tipsarevic appeared in the Chennai final for the second straight year and was determined to not let history repeat itself. He lost to Canadian Milos Raonic 6-7 (4-7), 7-6 (7-4), 7-6 (7-4) in a match that lasted three hours, 14 minutes. Based on time, it was the longest three-set final on the ATP World Tour last year.

The 80th-ranked Bautista Agut was a first-time ATP World Tour finalist. Last year, players trying to capture their maiden title were 1-15 in finals.
