Metz, France (Sports Network) - Heavy French crowd favorite Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Andreas Seppi of Italy won their respective semifinal matches on Saturday at the Moselle Open.
The top-seeded and defending Metz titlist Tsonga beat eighth-seeded former top-five Russian star Nikolay Davydenko 6-0, 3-6, 6-4.
The world No. 7 Tsonga defeated former titlist Ivan Ljubicic in last year's Metz title match.
Tsonga holds an 8-5 record for his career in finals.
The fifth-seeded Seppi defeated seventh-seeded former top-10 star Gael Monfils 3-6, 6-1, 6-4.
Seppi will try to win his third title and second of the season following a victory at the Serbia Open in Belgrade. He also finished runner-up to Andy Roddick at the AEGON International in Eastbourne.
Monfils returned to the ATP World Tour this week after being sidelined since May with a knee injury, which forced him to miss the French Open, Wimbledon, Olympics and U.S. Open.
In addition to his title here three years ago, Monfils was the runner-up at this event back in 2004.
Tsonga is 2-1 lifetime against Seppi.
