Rangers coach John Tortorella responded accordingly, saying that Thornton is "one of the better players in the league never to win anything." TSN
Insight: It seems ironic that Thornton would make these kinds of comments, considering that he has been labeled a soft player throughout his career for not stepping up his game during the playoffs. Thornton, who has nine points and a +5 in ten games, realized his mistake on Tuesday, saying that "soft" was probably the wrong choice of word.
