Insight: The Devils need some immediate help on the blueline, as both Andy Greene and Anton Volchenkov are currently sidelined. As well, Foster should help a power play that is currently ranked 26th in the league. The Ducks weren't using Foster very much, and they figured to use him even less with Lubomir Visnovsky expected to return this week.

Description: Kurtis Foster is expected to miss the next 2-4 weeks following a procedure to remove wire from his left thigh.
Insight: The wire was in place from surgery in 2008 from his badly fractured leg. The Ducks start the season in Finland, so there's a good chance that Foster won't be with the team on the trip.
