Description: The NHL has suspended Islanders forward Trevor Gillies ten games for his hit from behind and punch to Wild forward Cal Clutterbuck during Wednesday's game. TSN
Insight: Whether or not you think this suspension is enough for a thug like Gillies, you have to admit that NHL VP Colin Campbell doesn't issue many ten-game suspensions. Gillies will lose over $60,000 in pay because of the suspension, so hopefully the incident will send him a strong message about his on-ice conduct - that is if he ever sets foot on NHL ice again.

Description: Trevor Gillies returned to the Islanders' lineup from a nine-game suspension on Wednesday, but he was ejected in the second period after hitting Cal Clutterbuck from behind. TSN
Insight: Clutterbuck received a two-minute boarding penalty after hitting Islanders forward Justin DiBenedetto, to which Gillies decided to take matters into his own hands. Gillies received the nine-game suspension for a headshot at Penguins forward Eric Tangradi, followed by a flurry of punches and some taunting while Tangradi was lying on the ice. Gillies is a no-talent goon who deserves to have the book thrown at him for this one.

Description: Trevor Gillies has been suspended nine games, while Matt Martin has been suspended four games for their roles in Friday's fight-filled game between the Islanders and the Penguins. TSN
Insight: The Islanders were also hit with a $100,000 fine. Gillies was suspended for an elbow to the head of Eric Tangradi, which resulted in a concussion for the Penguins' forward. Gillies was also seen taunting Tangradi while he was laying on the ice. Martin was suspended for punching Max Talbot from behind, payback for Talbot's blindside hit on Blake Comeau during the teams' last meeting. Gary Bettman and/or Colin Campbell will no doubt be in attendance when the teams next meet on April 8.
