NHL Game Summary - San Jose at Nashville (Tuesday, February 12th) Final Score: Nashville 1, San Jose 0 (OT) Nashville, TN (Sports Network) - Pekka Rinne masked the Nashville Predators' ongoing offensive deficiencies while helping to extend San Jose's February funk. Rinne recorded his 27th career shutout with a 25-save performance as the Predators edged the Sharks, 1-0, in overtime at Bridgestone Arena. Colin Wilson was credited with the game's lone tally at the 2:08 mark of the extra session. Wilson went to the crease and got a piece of Ryan Ellis' shot from up high before it trickled behind San Jose goalie Antti Niemi. "I saw (Ellis) had (the puck), so I drove the middle. He took a shot and I got a tip on it," Wilson said. Nashville, which entered play averaging a league-worst 1.83 goals per game, snapped a two-game losing streak. Niemi played well in defeat, making 24 saves. Tuesday's loss was the sixth straight for San Jose following a franchise-best 7-0-0 start in January. The current 0-3-3 skid began with a 2-1 shootout loss to Nashville on Feb. 2. "We have to find a way to get over the hump, get one by some goaltenders and find some wins here," San Jose head coach Todd McLellan said. Game Notes The Sharks were 0-for-6 on the power play ... The Predators were outshot 13-3 in the first period. 02/13 02:35:25 ET |
