Lightning, Bishop agree to extension

Tampa Bay, FL (Sports Network) - The Tampa Bay Lightning have signed goaltender Ben Bishop to a two-year contract extension, the club announced Monday.

Bishop, 26, has played six games with the Lightning since being acquired from the Senators at the April 3 trade deadline. He is 2-3-0 with a .916 save percentage and a 3.21 goals-against average.

The 6-foot-7 goaltender has played a total of 19 games this season with Tampa Bay and Ottawa and has compiled a 10-8-0 record with a .920 save percentage and a 2.68 goals-against average.

A third-round pick in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, Bishop has played in 42 career games in parts of four seasons with the Blues (2008-11), Senators (2011-13) and Lightning, posting a 17-16-3 record with a 2.67 goals-against average and a .912 save percentage.
