Dubnyk denies Selanne, Ducks

Anaheim, CA (Sports Network) - Devan Dubnyk made 32 saves, and denied Teemu Selanne a special ending to what could be the final home game in his 19-year career, as Edmonton recorded a 2-1 victory over Anaheim at Honda Center.

Selanne tallied the hosts' lone goal -- his 26th of the year and 663rd of his NHL journey -- and was bidding for the tying score in the dying seconds. But Dubnyk made the save at the left post, preserving the win.

"I think there's still a lot of passion and excitement in the game for me, but I am thinking about the future also," Selanne said following the contest. "I've always had a great relationship with the fans. They have really made this a home for me and my family. It's such an honor to play so many games in front of them. Thank you."

Teemu Hartikainen recorded his first two goals of the campaign for the Oilers, who snapped a two-game slide.

"It's a great feeling and it will help me get my confidence up," he said. "I play to win this game and if I get the chance, I would want to score the third one."

Jonas Hiller stopped just 13 shots in the setback for the Ducks, who have lost two in a row and three of four. Anaheim finishes its season with a three-game Canadian road trip to Vancouver, Edmonton and Calgary.

Hartikainen netted his goals roughly six minutes apart early in the first.

The first score came just 15 seconds after the opening faceoff. Jordan Eberle forced a turnover deep inside the Ducks' zone, followed a carom off the right- wing boards and dished into the slot, where the 21-year-old ripped it home.

It was 2-0 at the 6:04 mark as Ryan Whitney's floater from the left point found Hartikainen's stick en route to settling under the crossbar at the right post.

Selanne halved the Ducks' deficit at 14:12, redirecting a Niklas Hagman centering feed, but Dubnyk remained strong for the remainder of the contest.

He stopped the other seven shots Anaheim produced in the first period, all 10 in the second, and made 15 more saves in the third, including Selanne's late bid.
