Description: Steelers receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey suffered a concussion at Thursday's practice, according to Steelers beat writer Mark Kaboly.
Insight: This is bad news for a receiver with a history of concussions. There is a chance he may not make the final roster if this lingers too long.

Description: Colts receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey left Saturday's playoff game against Kansas City due to a hamstring injury and questionable for Saturday's AFC Divisional Playoff against New England.
Insight: Heyward-Bey hasn't gotten much playing time of late, so this shouldn't change fantasy lineups. Since almost reaching the 1,000-yard mark in 2011 with Oakland, DHB's game has headed south.

Description: Colts receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey (ankle) is probable for Sunday's game against Arizona.
Insight: Chuck Pagano said a minor ankle injury was the reason Heyward-Bey didn't play in the second half of Thursday's game, but it appeared the receiver was just benched for dropping another catchable pass. Healthy or not, Heyward-Bey hasn't picked up the slack left by the Reggie Wayne season-ending injury. It's been mostly T.Y. Hilton and Coby Fleener.

Description: Colts wideout Darrius Heyward-Bey suffered an ankle injury which limited his activity in Thursday night's win over Tennessee.

11/10/2013 11:55:00 AM
Description: Colts wideout Darrius Heyward-Bey (hamstring) is active.
Insight: Heyward-Bey has been practicing all week and is ready to go. In the Colts' first game without Reggie Wayne, Heyward-Bey was expected to pick up some of the slack, but managed just one catch for 11 yards. More is required if fantasy owners are to gamble with him as a flex option.

11/2/2013 11:07:00 AM
Description: Colts coach Chuck Pagano said that he expects Darrius Heyward-Bey (hamstring) to play Sunday night against Houston.
Insight: Heyward-Bey sat out of Friday's practice after suffering the injury during Thursday's session. While his role is expected to increase following Reggie Wayne's season-ending knee injury, Heyward-Bey is not a reliable fantasy option this week.

10/28/2013 5:50:00 PM
Description: Colts coach Chuck Pagano said that Darrius Heyward-Bey is "going to have to take on a bigger role, both in the classroom as far as leadership role and then on the football field," according to Mike Wells of ESPN.com.
Insight: Reggie Wayne is out for the season with a torn ACL, leaving Andrew Luck with T.Y. Hilton, Heyward-Bey and LaVon Brazill as his top-three receivers. The 26-year-old Heyward-Bey is a must-add this week, even though he's a long shot to mature into a consistent and reliable threat.

9/16/2013 4:18:00 PM
Description: Colts receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey left Sunday's game against the Dolphins with a shoulder injury and luckily the MRI came back negative.
Insight: Heyward-Bey should return to practice by the end of the week. He has done nothing to get fantasy owners excited while wideouts Reggie Wayne, T.Y. Hilton and tight end Coby Fleener are much better targets.

8/13/2013 5:40:00 PM
Description: Colts beat writer Tom James estimates that receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey had five drops during Tuesday's practice.
Insight: Heyward-Bey has never been known for his soft hands, but this was poor timing for a drop-fest. T.Y. Hilton had a strong preseason opener and is clearly the better player of the two even though he's currently behind DHB on the depth chart.

8/6/2013 7:35:00 PM
Description: Colts receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey (knee) was spotted in full pads prior to Tuesday night's practice, according to Mike Chappell of the Indianapolis Star.
Insight: While it's unclear how much he'll practice, it is surprising to see him in pads already after he suffered a knee sprain during practice Sunday that initially was expected to keep him out for weeks. The former Raiders first-round pick is competing with T.Y. Hilton for the No. 2 receiver spot. Donnie Avery occupied that spot last season and saw 125 targets.

8/6/2013 4:47:00 PM
Description: The MRI on Colts receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey's left knee came back negative, according to Mike Wells of ESPN.com.
Insight: Heyward-Bey suffered a knee sprain during practice Sunday, but he does not have any serious damage and could return in a matter of days instead of weeks. The former Raiders first-round pick is competing with T.Y. Hilton for the No. 2 receiver spot. Donnie Avery occupied that spot last season and saw 125 targets.

8/4/2013 8:17:00 PM
Description: The Colts are calling Darrius Heyward-Bey's injury a sprained left knee.
Insight: The team hasn't given a timetable for when he might be back. This injury hurts Heyward-Bey's chances of overtaking T.Y. Hilton on the Colts' wide receiver depth chart.

8/4/2013 5:04:00 PM
Description: Fox 59's Brittany Diehl reports that Colts receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey injured his knee at practice on Sunday.
Insight: The injury could prevent Heyward-Bey from playing in next week's preseason opener against Buffalo. Heyward-Bey has underachieved since coming into the league as a top-ten pick in 2009. Perhaps he'll benefit from a change of scenery after spending his last four seasons with Oakland.

7/28/2013 9:26:00 PM
Description: According to Mike Chappell of the Indianapolis Star, Darrius Heyward-Bey has been the Colts' No. 2 wide receiver in base formations so far during training camp.
Insight: T.Y. Hilton, who had 861 yards and seven scores as a rookie after being selected in the late third round, has been the third receiver. The Colts like to use a lot of two tight end sets, so this is a notable position battle. Last year's No. 2 receiver Donnie Avery saw 124 targets last season.

4/1/2013 9:37:00 PM
Description: Former Raiders wide receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey has agreed to a one-year deal with Indianapolis.
Insight: Don't get too excited. Sure, Heyward-Bey can help Andrew Luck stretch the field with his big play ability but he's a distant fourth on the depth chart behind Reggie Wayne, Donnie Avery and T.Y. Hilton.

3/12/2013 8:03:00 PM
Description: The Raiders have released receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey, according to Will Brinson of CBSSports.com.
Insight: With 140 receptions for 2071 yards and 11 touchdowns in four seasons as a Raiders, Heyward-Bey will go down as a draft bust after being selected with the seventh overall pick in 2009. Heyward-Bey was the first receiver off the board in a draft that included Michael Crabtree (10th, SF), Jeremy Maclin (19th, PHI), Percy Harvin (22nd, MIN), Hakeem Nicks (29th, NYG), Kenny Britt (30th, TEN), Mike Wallace (84th, PIT) and Brian Hartline (108th, MIA).

12/17/2012 8:38:00 PM
Description: Raiders receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey had zero catches Sunday for the third time this season. He was targeted five times.
Insight: With zero 100-yard games and just 37 receptions, Heyward-Bey has failed to build on a 975-yard, 64-catch season a year ago.

11/18/2012 3:00:00 PM
Description: Oakland wideout Darrius Heyward-Bey will start Sunday's game against New Orleans. He had been a game-time decision because of an injured hamstring.
Insight: Heyward-Bey hasn't been consistent this season but there's always a chance he could sneak into the end zone. He could be a serviceable flex play this week, especially if the Raiders are trailing in the second half and need to air it out.
