Description: Titans coach Mike Munchak told Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com that he wants to acquire a short-yardage rusher to take the load off Chris Johnson, but that Johnson will still get his touches "in different ways."
Insight: Munchak pointed to the partnership Johnson had with Lendale White in Johnson's rookie year, when White had 200 carries and 15 rushing touchdowns. Johnson had a career-low 251 carries that season but was still an effective fantasy player. Johnson has only rushed for 10 touchdowns over the last two seasons so we can't see a short-yardage back hurting his value too much.

Description: ESPN reports that the Titans will not be releasing franchise running back Chris Johnson.
Insight: The Titans could have shed $9 million in cap room by cutting Johnson before Saturday but it doesn't look like that's going to happen. CJ2K finished the 2012 campaign with 1,243 rushing yards. That was good for ninth-best in the NFL.

Description: Tennessee halfback Chris Johnson said that he hasn't been in touch with the team since the season ended.
Insight: Johnson mentioned this on a radio interview with 104.5 The Zone in Nashville while also acknowledging that the Titans might cut him in the offseason. Obviously Johnson, who has rushed for 1,000 yards in each of his first five NFL seasons, is a valuable part of the Titans' offense but cutting him would also allow Tennessee to free up $10 million in cap space.

Description: Titans running back Chris Johnson rushed for 56 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries Sunday against Jacksonville.
Insight: The question is, has Johnson done enough to warrant fantasy owners spending a first-rounder on him again in 2013? The five games in which he ran for 725 yards and four touchdowns on 103 carries (7.0 ypc) say yes, but the other 11 in which he had 518 yards and two scores on 173 carries (3.0 ypc) suggest some major inconsistency.

12/30/2012 12:13:00 PM
Description: Tennessee halfback Chris Johnson was listed as questionable this week because of an injured ankle but he's active and will be in the starting lineup Sunday against Jacksonville.
Insight: Johnson has rushed for at least 1,000 yards in each of his five seasons in the NFL. He racked up 80 yards on 21 carries in a loss to the Jaguars earlier in the year.

12/25/2012 10:04:00 AM
Description: Titans running back Chris Johnson, who left Sunday's game for a short time with a right ankle injury, will not be 100 percent for the season finale.
Insight: With no team or individual goals to play for, there is a solid chance that Johnson doesn't play in Week 17 against Jacksonville. Johnson has rushed for 1,187 yards and five touchdowns this season.

12/23/2012 2:14:00 PM
Description: Titans running back Chris Johnson left Sunday's game with a right ankle injury but returned later in the second quarter.
Insight: Johnson has regained favor with fantasy owners after an abominable first three games but he could struggle to make an impact in Week 16 with Tennessee going down 20-0 to the Packers.

12/23/2012 2:01:00 PM
Description: Titans running back Chris Johnson left Sunday's game with a right ankle injury and is questionable to return.
Insight: Johnson has regained favor with fantasy owners after an abominable first three games but leaving the fantasy championship game and not returning would be unforgivable.

Cold12/9/2012 7:11:00 PM
Description: Titans running back Chris Johnson crossed 1,000 yards for the fifth time in five years Sunday against the Colts but only had 44 yards on 19 carries.
Insight: Johnson owners won't like the fact that QB Jake Locker was the leading rusher in Week 14. After seven dynamite weeks, Johnson has clocked in below 4.0 ypc in three straight games. He's failed to score a touchdown in that stretch as well.

Hot11/11/2012 4:41:00 PM
Description: Titans running back Chris Johnson has been a different player since Week 4, rushing for 817 yards on 137 carries his last seven games, including 126 on 23 carries Sunday against the Dolphins.
Insight: If you're counting, that's an average of 6.0 yards per carry for a player who produced just 1.4 ypc on his first 33 carries this season. Johnson is on pace for 1,379.2 yards rushing, which would be his highest total since he reached 2,000 in 2009-10.

11/4/2012 6:58:00 PM
Description: Titans running back Chris Johnson went wild Sunday against Chicago. He finished the day with 141 yards and a touchdown on just 16 carries.
Insight: Johnson did lose a couple of fumbles but getting to 141 yards against the Bears' stout run defense is still an impressive feat.

10/28/2012 5:19:00 PM
Description: Tennessee halfback Chris Johnson took advantage of another favorable matchup Sunday against Indianapolis by rushing for 99 yards on 21 carries.
Insight: Johnson has 385 yards in his last three games and is suddenly on pace for 1,190 yards. We would recommend shopping him now with tough matchups against Chicago and Miami coming up before his bye and showdowns with Houston and the New York Jets on the slate later this season.

10/21/2012 5:36:00 PM
Description: Tennessee halfback Chris Johnson blew up for a season-high 195 rushing yards and two touchdowns Sunday in a win over Buffalo.
Insight: Buffalo's defense has been a punching bag for opposing offenses all season and Johnson, who has been wildly inconsistent in 2012, proved that again on Sunday. Johnson's fantasy numbers could have been even more impressive had Jamie Harper not vultured a pair of touchdowns near the goal line.

10/11/2012 11:53:00 PM
Description: Titans running back Chris Johnson had his second best rushing game of the season Thursday against the Steelers, running for 91 yards on 19 carries as the Titans upset Pittsburgh, 26-23.
Insight: Johnson has rushed for 24 yards or less in four of his six games this season but he's picked up 232 yards in the other two. Johnson added 23 yards on four catches Thursday, but he also failed to score his first TD of the season.

10/7/2012 7:59:00 PM
Description: Titans running back Chris Johnson returned to his sub-2.0 ypc ways Sunday against the Vikings.
Insight: Johnson only had 24 yards on 15 carries and made matters worse by losing a fumble. It's going to be impossible to trust him going forward. Keep him on the bench.

9/30/2012 4:41:00 PM
Description: Tennessee running back Chris Johnson rushed for 141 yards on 25 carries Sunday against the Texans.
Insight: The Titans offensive line opened huge holes for Johnson to run through, so his tentativeness couldn't hurt him much in Week 4. He's still a shaky option going forward unless Tennessee's line shows the ability to block like this every week, because he's not going to create something out of nothing very often.

9/23/2012 5:15:00 PM
Description: Tennessee running back Chris Johnson raised his yards per carry average in Week 3, but not by much. The former 2,000-yard rusher turned in 24 yards on 14 carries.
Insight: Johnson came in having averaged 1.1 ypc on 19 rushes the first two weeks and he averaged 1.4 Sunday. Johnson has rushed for a measly 45 yards in three games. You simply cannot use him in fantasy leagues right now.

9/21/2012 2:28:00 PM
Description: Tennessee running back Chris Johnson, who was a non-factor again in Week 2, criticized his team's blocking for the problem.
Insight: While Johnson may be right, it's rarely a good idea to yell at the guys trying to open holes for you. The Titans have a total of 58 yards rushing in two games and they are led by Jake Locker's 32 yards on four carries.

9/17/2012 11:00:00 AM
Description: Tennessee running back Chris Johnson was a non-factor again in Week 2, rushing the ball eight times for 17 yards.
Insight: The Titans have a total of 58 yards rushing in two games and they are led by Jake Locker's 32 yards on four carries. Not what fantasy owners who were looking for a bounce back season from CJ were hoping for. While you may be tempted to trade him, his value is likely to be too low to get "fair market value."

9/9/2012 4:40:00 PM
Description: Tennessee running back Chris Johnson was a non-factor in Week 1, rushing the ball 11 times for a paltry four yards, though he salvaged his day in PPR leagues with six catches for 47 yards.
Insight: That's not what fantasy owners were looking for. The Titans fell behind 21-3 in the first half and had to air it out in the second, but that's no excuse for Johnson's 0.4 ypc.
