Description: Baltimore Ravens newly acquired receiver Jacoby Jones could be used as both a punt and kickoff return man along with his duties as the team's No. 3 receiver.
Insight: The combination could allow Jones to be a low-end fantasy value receiver in leagues which accumulate punt and kick return yardage.

5/1/2012 7:56:00 PM
Description: Jacoby Jones has been released by the Houston Texans.
Insight: Jones was scheduled to earn $3 million next season so this is a cost-cutting move for the Texans. The 27-year-old Jones is a so-so receiver but he has good wheels and has functioned as a decent kickoff and punt returner for Houston over the last few seasons.

Description: The Houston Texans have agreed to terms with free agent receiver Jacoby Jones and tackle Rashad Butler. SOURCE: ESPN.COM
Insight: Jones' deal spans three seasons and is worth $10.5 million, a source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter. The 6-foot-2, 210-pound Jones caught 51 passes for 562 yards in 2010, his fourth season with Houston. The 6-4, 308-pound Butler played in all 16 games last season. He started four games at left tackle when regular starter Duane Brown served a suspension for violating the league's policy on performance-enhancing substances.

Description: The Texans' plans for free agency likely will begin by attempting to lock up their own players, with making an offer to unrestricted free-agent FB Vonta Leach the first order of business followed by a pitch for WR Jacoby Jones. SOURCE: PRO FOOTBALL WEEKLY
Insight: Although bouts of inconsistency have plagued Jones, he remains a dangerous downfield target for QB Matt Schaub, in addition to being the club's best return man. If Jones receives a more lucrative deal elsewhere, second-year WR Dorin Dickerson could see an increased role on offense. WR-RS Trindon Holliday could get the first shot at return duties. We still believe Jones will be re-signed by the club.

1/4/2011 2:02:00 AM
Description: Jones caught five passes for 70 yards in Sunday's win.
Insight: It was his fourth straight game with at least five catches after Jones hadn't reached that number since Week 3. He's on the verge of free agency, so it'll be interesting to see what teams are willing to pay and if he's finally ready to put a full season together. (RapidDraft.com)

12/31/2010 11:00:00 AM
Description: With Texans WR Andre Johnson (ankle) ailing, WR Jacoby Jones is expected to draw another start against the Jaguars. SOURCE: HOUSTON CHRONICLE
Insight: Jones had a big game last week against the Broncos. He could be a very strong WR2/WR3 this week against a Jaguars Defense that is just as bad.

12/26/2010 5:50:00 PM
Description: Texans WR Jacoby Jones has a career-high 92 yards and a TD in the first half in Week 16 vs. Denver.
Insight: It obviously helps that WR Andre Johnson is inactive, but Jones is having a great game and it's still going.

12/3/2010 10:04:00 AM
Description: Jones took advantage of Andre Johnson's brief absence Thursday night to catch his first touchdown pass since Week 2.
Insight: It was just Jones' second score of the season and the fifth time in the past six games that he caught two passes or fewer. It has been a thoroughly disappointing season for what seemed to be a fantasy breakout candidate. (RapidDraft.com)

10/4/2010 4:00:00 PM
Description: Jones caught just one pass on three targets Sunday before leaving with a calf injury. The severity is not yet known.
Insight: It was a highly disappointing outing with Andre Johnson inactive. We'll see if Jones will miss any more time going forward. (RapidDraft.com)

10/3/2010 9:31:00 PM
Description: Already missing Andre Johnson, the Houston Texans lost WR Jacoby Jones in the second half Week 4 with a calf injury.
Insight: He never returned to the game, indicating it might be more serious than first thought. The injuries to their wide receivers are likely a major reason Joel Dreessen was a big part of the offense and the reason Gary Kubiak used three different running backs.

10/3/2010 3:02:00 PM
Description: With teammate Andre Johnson ruled out today, Jones should be in line for more targets against the Raiders.
Insight: Houston should let the running game lead the way against a weak Oakland run defense, but there will be plenty of passing work to support Jones and Kevin Walter. Each is a good fantasy option in Week 4. (RapidDraft.com)

9/27/2010 1:04:00 AM
Description: Jones grabbed five catches for 51 yards on Sunday. It was Kevin Walter who came away with the lone touchdown catch, though.
Insight: Jones continues to emerge as an important part of the Houston passing game. He's worth weekly starting consideration and would get a boost if Johnson were to hurt his ankle worse. (RapidDraft.com)

9/13/2010 8:04:00 PM
Description: Jones actually drew one more target than Andre Johnson in the Texans' opener, seeing six passes to Johnson's five. He caught just two for 29 yards, however, missing a catchable touchdown at one point.
Insight: Jones is a prime breakout candidate in fantasy, and the level of usage from Sunday is encouraging. His six targets made up more than a third of Matt Schaub's total attempts. (RapidDraft.com)

8/29/2010 11:00:00 AM
Description: Jacoby Jones caught five passes for 63 yards and a touchdown against the Cowboys in Saturday's exhibition game.
Insight: Jones continues to cement his status as one of the most sought after sleepers this season. He should provide excellent value in respect to where he'll be drafted. (RapidDraft.com)

8/27/2010 7:04:00 PM
Description: Coach Gary Kubiak said he considers Jacoby Jones his No. 3 receiver right now, but added that "we have three starters, in my opinion."
Insight: Jones has a good chance to beat out Kevin Walter for more targets this year. He?s a good sleeper name to know for the later rounds. (RapidDraft.com)

8/26/2010 1:49:00 PM
Description: When talking about the receiving unit, Texans HC Gary Kubiak said "we have three starters, in my opinion", but he still considered WR Jacoby Jones his No. 3 receiver right now. SOURCE: HOUSTONTEXANS.COM
Insight: As fantasy owners, we don't care about the "We have three starters" mentality. Pick a guy and run with it Gary. Walter could keep the starting job because of his contract, but it's too hard not to see Jones involved more this year.

8/20/2010 9:37:00 AM
Description: Jacoby Jones has been temporarily removed from punt return duties so he can focus on the competition for the No. 2 receiver battle.
Insight: Jones could have a Steve Breaston-like impact this year for the Texans. He is a sleeper with major potential. (RapidDraft.com)

8/19/2010 12:19:00 PM
Description: The Texans have taken WR Jacoby Jones temporarily off punt return duties so he can focus on competing for the No. 2 receiver job. SOURCE: HOUSTON CHRONICLE
Insight: Jones looked good against the Cardinals last weekend, leading the team in receptions with five for 39 yards. Kevin Walter only had one catch, but this is still a close competition. We're pulling for Jones and his higher fantasy ceiling.

5/28/2010 8:04:00 PM
Description: Coach Gary Kubiak expects Jacoby Jones to compete with Kevin Walter for the starting job opposite Andre Johnson.
Insight: Up until now, Jones has had most of his value tied up in leagues that reward return yardage. However, this looks like the year he makes the move to viable fantasy player in other leagues as well. (sportsBuff.com)

5/19/2010 2:18:00 PM
Description: Jacoby Jones is working with the first-team offense this week with Andre Johnson skipping out on OTAs
Insight: This won;t last, of course, but Jones does have the ability to carve out a nice-sized role for himself. Look for him to be a popular sleeper in drafts this year. (SportsBuff.com)
